据国外媒体报道，苹果公司的iPad在英国碰到了一位大买家，那就是巴克莱银行。有消息称，巴克莱银行将一次性购置8500台iPad，以配发给员工以提升服务质量。

巴克莱银行的发言人表示iPad能够让员工更好地为银行客户服务，还能协助分公司同事与客户沟通。该发言人表示，巴克莱是在调查了市场上很多的平板电脑之后才决定购买iPad的，因为iPad能够最大限度地满足他们的特殊需求，现在巴克莱的各个分公司已经开始使用iPad了。

就在前不久微软发布了最新的Windows 8操作系统，有分析人士认为Windows 8平台更适合企业用户，而且界面更加友好，支持USB设备及其他外围设备。前几天阿联酋航空公司在为空姐配备平板电脑时选购了1000台惠普ElitePad 900。但是这次巴克莱银行的选择和阿联酋航空公司不同，巴克莱选择了苹果，而且一次性购置了8500台之多。

巴克莱购置iPad主要是想使用一个名为“Mortgage Brain”的应用程序，该程序是由苏格兰皇家银行、维尔京理财、巴克莱银行、桑坦德银行、劳埃德银行和全英银行（Nationwide）六家金融机构共同开发的，并且该程序归这的六家机构共同拥有。

现在尚不清楚的是巴克莱将会选择哪款iPad，即便是最便宜的mini iPad，巴克莱也需要支付200万英镑以上（基于标准零售价）。但是，巴克莱一般会通过交易商Insight UK购买苹果设备，而且往往可以享受优惠。独立的IT供应商表示：现在越来越多大型企业开始对苹果iPad感兴趣。
