Telephone Interview
If you pass the initial application screening, you will be invited to take part in a 30-minute telephone interview. This will focus on examples of where you have been able to demonstrate the graduate capabilities we are looking for.
Key dates
Telephone interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis from November 2008 to January 2009 as we receive applications. We will endeavour to process you through to telephone application as quickly as possible but at peak times we may have to place you temporarily on hold.
Telephone interview advice
- Think about which phone you use. If possible, use a landline number for a telephone interview to avoid problems with poor mobile signals, failing batteries etc.
- Make time to prepare. Taking time to think about different examples will mean that you will have options to choose from when responding to the questions.
- Reduce the possibility of distractions during the interview. Make sure you are in a quiet room and have the time to give the interview your full attention.
- Make sure you listen and understand the questions. Make sure you have understood what is required so that your answers give us the information we are looking for. The interviewers will be looking for specific situations you have been involved in and the actions that you took to deal with these situations. Although we do want to know some of the context, we are mainly interested in what you did and why.
