　　Letter of Recommendation

　　• 推荐信是写给单位，学校等介绍或说明应聘或求学人 员情况的信件。它从第三方的角度向用人单位或学校 提供有关当事人的必要信息或推荐意见，推荐信一般 包括以下内容：

　　• 1. 应聘者的姓名，个人素质，工作态度和学习成绩; • 2. 与推荐人之间的.关系，相识时间及相知的程度 • 3. 推荐人态度明确地支持接受应聘者。

　　• 推荐信最主要的两点是： • 1.推荐人(referee/reference)要有一 定的声望和地位， • 2. 信的内容要突出被推荐人的优点或 特长。 • 开头的称呼可以泛泛的用To Whom It May Concern，不涉及具体的人或 单位。

　　• • • • 例如： 描述能力可以用capable, talented, outstanding, competent, ambitious; 描述工作勤奋可以用diligent, industrious, hardworking; 描述品行可以用cheerful, honest, helpful, kind-hearted, generous, devoted, faithful, persistent, humorous, creative, inventive, etc.

　　推荐信中常用词语及表达方式

　　• 在推荐信的结尾，常用以下句子表达“本人愿 意郑重推荐或证明XXX能胜任XXX，恳请考 虑或试用为盼”之意。 • 1. I should appreciate it very much if you would consider her candidacy favorably. • 2. I sincerely hope you will give him favorable consideration. • I hope you will give this recommendation your best consideration.
