All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes (by Maya Angelou)

Black Boy (by Richard T. Wright)

Brothers and Keepers (by John Edgar Wideman)

  Lucy(by Jamaica Kincaid)

Notes of a Native Son (by James Baldwin)

On Gold Mountain (by Lisa See)

Silent Spring (by Rachel Carson)

The Crown of Columbus (by Louise Erdrich, Michael Dorris)

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (by Mark Bittner)

  Possession (by A.S.Byatt)

Poirot Investigates, Murder in the Mews, The Labours of Hercules, The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding, Poirot's Early Stories, Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks (by Agatha Christie)

The Color Purple (by Alice Walker)

Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, The Maytrees (by Annie Dillard)

The Last of the Menu Girls (by Denise Chavez)

Don Quixote (by Miguel de Cervantes)

The Living Is Easy (by Dorothy West)

Politian, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket, The Balloon-Hoax, The Philosophy of Composition, Eureka: A Prose Poem, The Poetic Principle, The Light-House (by Edgar Allan Poe)

The Joy of Gay Sex, A Boy's Own Story, The Beautiful Room Is Empty, The Farewell Symphony (by Edmund White)

This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color (by Gloria E. Anzaldúa)

Go Tell It on the Mountain, Tell Me How Long the Train's Been Gone, If Beale Street Could Talk, Native Sons (by James Baldwin)

  Cane (by Jean Toomer)

The Nurture Assumption (by Judith Rich Harris)

The Inheritance of Loss (by Kiran Desai)

Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse-Five, Breakfast of Champions (by Kurt Vonnegut)

Monkey Bridge (by Lan Cao)

Not Without Laughter (by Langston Hughes)

All the Wrong Questions (by Lemony Snicket)

The Book of Margery Kempe (by Margery Kempe)

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (by Maya Angelou)

History of the Rise, Progress, and Termination of the American Revolution (by Mercy Otis Warren)

  Donatella (by Marie-No?lle Drouet)

Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley (by Patricia Highsmith)

Invisible Man (by Ralph Waldo Ellison)

The Madwoman in the Attic (by Sandra M. Gilbert and Susan Gubar)

Gorilla, My Love (by Toni Cade Bambara)

Their Eyes Were Watching God (by Zora Neale Hurston)
