  1. What are your strengths?   你的专长是什么?

  你的长处可能跟你的特质(attributes)、天赋(talents)、专业知识(expertise)或技能(skills)有关,可以想想你的求学或工作经验中,是否培养或累积了能够运用在所应征工作上的专长,务必让面试官了解到你的强项,与公司的需求以及职缺条件(qualifications)是一致的(consistent)。

  1.I have an extremely strong work ethic. When I work on a project, I don’t want just to meet deadlines. Rather, I prefer to finish the project well ahead of schedule. Last year, I even earned a bonus for completing my two most recent reports one week early.

  2. What are your weaknesses?  你的缺点是什么?

  这个问题可能有点难回答,因为答得不好就会过分自暴其短。可回答一个跟应征职缺较不相关的(less irrelevant)短处(shortcoming),或者过去曾经有什么样的缺点,向面试官说明你是如何改进这个缺点,并且指出你现在进步了多少。另外一种好的回答方式是把缺点化做优点。

  2.I like to ensure that my work is flawless, so I tend to perhaps spend a little too much time double-checking it. However, I’ve struck a good balance by applying an approach to make everything done accurately the first time.

  面试官也可能用另一种问法来问同样的问题:What makes you the best fit for this position?也就是你为什么是最适合这个工作的人选?回答这个问题就像是自我推销,简单扼要地陈述自己过去的专业技能或工作成就(accomplishments),有自信地告诉对方自己最大的卖点(selling points),突显个人与众不同之处,也别忘了重申自己对所应征工作和公司的兴趣和向往。

  1.Your company provides many services that I have had experience with in a variety of areas. I believe that my familiarity with the industry would make me the best candidate for this position.
