Tony Santora, an executive vice president for Right Management, a majoroutplacement firm in Philadelphia, says an information-technology manager flubbed a 2007interview by choosing a personal foible as his reply： ’My true weakness is that I am aterrible cook.’

　　(1)Competencies(能力素质)——该求职者是否具备工作所需的基本能力素质和职业素养?诸如智能水平、与人相处的能力、工作的热情等。着重考察该求职者“How it isperformed(怎样表现自己)”。

　　(2)Professional Skill(专业技能)——该求职者是否具备工作所需的专业技能?诸如财务管理中进行财务分析的能力、成本管理的能力;人力资源管理中进行人力资源规划的能力、管理培训的能力;电脑系统管理中进行电脑维修的能力、系统维护的能力;市场营销管理中管理代理商的能力、市场反应的`能力等。着重考察对于该职位空缺而言“What is required(什么样的技能是必需的)”。

　　(3)Experience(经验)——该求职者是否具有与空缺职位相关的工作经验?例如，是否在同类产品市场中有过市场营销的经验，是否熟悉某项业务流程的运作，能否以最快的速度投入到工作中去，并且能够带来新的想法和思路。这是考察该求职者可供“Track Record(参考的记录)”。

　　在世界500强招聘的三个核心衡量要素中，能力素质是本书阐述的重点，因为专业技能和工作经验在一段时期之内是稳定的，而能力素质才表现一个人的发展潜力。
