Job Offer : junior economist, French Embassy
The financial service of the French Embassy in Beijing looks for a "junior economist -assistant" (hard to translate !) : his role will be to assist the two economic "conseillers" (advisors) [who are equivalent to senior economists in the French administration] by proposing analysis about the Chinese economy, writting papers, and above all, help them to have access to pertinent information .
An excellent understanding of macroeconomic and financial phenomenon is required. However, they not need quantitative economists, the job consists to explain and understand the Chinese situation and evolution (by writing short reports and notes), not to write models or forecasting. Qualitative approach wanted.
Master or PhD students graduated (major : economy or finance) wanted.
Good level in French language is required (especially oral). Native chinese speakers.
Job position begins in september 2009 and is permanent (after a trial period).
The remuneration's level is extremly interesting.

La mission économique de l'Ambassade de France à Pékin recherche un assistant, spécialisé en questions économiques et plus particulièrement macroéconomiques et financières. Son rôle sera de soutenir le travail des conseillers (économiques et financiers) par la recherche et la synthèse d'informations relatives à l'économie chinoise, la proposition d'analyses pertinentes et la rédaction de rapports.
Ce travail se situe à mi-chemin entre celui d'un "junior economist" et un assistant. Une approche qualitative et rigoureuse des problématiques est attendue.
Etudiants diplômés niveau master ou doctorat sont éligibles.
Bonne compréhension de la langue française, en particulier à l'oral. Natif chinois.
Le poste est à pourvoir à partir de septembre 2009.
La rémunération est très intéressante.
