苏珊:
(Thinking) I don`t become CEO of this company to see us miss our targets.

Bill, these charts from the fincace department are not encouraging.

比尔:
I know. We`re failing far short of our revenue projections.

苏珊:
That`s right. And take a look at this chart. It shows our fourth-quarter results compared to last year`s.

比尔:
That isn`t good. Revenues are down-down nearly twenty percent compared to last year.
表现不好.收入很低--几乎比去年同期低了百分之二十.
苏珊:
I`m afraid so. And it gets worse. This chart shows investors` expectations.
恐怕是这样.而且它还有继续下滑的趋势.这张图显示了投资者的预期目标.
比尔:
They expect a ten percent increase. We`ll never be able to make that.

苏珊:
Have some faith! Where there`s a will, there`s a way, right?

With back-to school season around the comer we might be able to drum up more orders. But, there just wouldn`t be enough time to get supplies in, processed, and shipped.

苏珊:
Don`t worry about logistics; focus on selling. You`ve come through for me in the past. Don`t let me down.

Your pep talk`s encouraging. But it`s simply impossible at this stage of the ball game. We`ll have to take the hit this quarter and make it up next quarter.

苏珊:
I hate to burst your bubble, but if we don`t make it happen this quarter, you and I may not be around for the next one.
我很不想让你的美梦破灭.不过如果我们这一季度没法完成目标.你跟我或许下一季度就不在这儿混了.
