2017年雅思口语话题练习

  Part One

1.How can we encourage people to eat more healthily?

I think the best approach is to have everything in moderation … processed food won’t kill you if you only eat it occasionally … but people should also be encouraged to eat a balanced diet … try to cook fresh ingredients at home a few times a week …

  2. Do you think people enjoy their food as much as they should?

I don’t know really … I suppose it’s true that people will often eat a quick snack because they’re bored not because they’re dying of hunger … and often they just bolt it down and don’t savour it … so yes … perhaps we could take more time over our food …

  3. Do you think cooking is a pleasure or a chore for people who have busy lives?

Well … whether you follow a recipe or make something up as you go along … I think cooking is a very creative process … and cooking for other people is a particular pleasure … there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing people you love tucking into something you’ve cooked yourself …

4.How technology has changed the way we prepare our food these days?

Technology and digital media influence the taste, appearance and experience of food more than ever before. More consumers are thinking about how food looks, and how they can make it look, as evidenced by the huge number of photos hitting social media networks every day. This trend has helped democratise culinary creativity; we can’t all enjoy foods at top restaurants, but we can all share the inspiration for our own cooking. With the rise of apps and social media has come a rise in self-quantification, and this has entered the food domain. We can monitor our sleep and how we run, but we can monitor exactly what our food intake is as well.A lot of these gadgets and tools are helping us to decide what we are eating.

  Part Two

1.Which is the most popular place for shopping in your home-town?

Answer: Actually, there are many places in my town which are famous for shopping. They are well-known for different reasons. For instance, Rajpur Road is famous for various brands outlets and designer wear shops whereas Paltan Market and Indira market are the places which are popular among the crowd for the affordability and vast collection of clothes along with essential commodities. Cannaught Place is known for high tech electronic gadgets such as mobiles and computers etc.

2.Why do you think people like to visit shopping centers?

I think it brings a lot of benefits for the people when they visit a shopping center because in the big shopping malls, different types of products are available at one place itself. You can find almost all types of brands in the same place and thus, it becomes very easy for you to choose the right one. Apart from this, you get many discount offers and shopping vouchers to choose from, which are not even available in the market. So, these are some of the reasons why people visit shopping centers. - See more at: http://app.ieltsninja.com/tips/recent-ielts-speaking-part-3-shopping/#sthash.ZaK6XxQ9.dpuf

3.Do you like shopping on the internet?

Answer A: Absolutely! I love to shop on the internet because online shopping offers many advantages over traditional shopping. First and foremost, some online stores have amazing collections for every age group. Secondly, we can buy anything through the net without going to crowded marketplaces and it’s a hustle free process. Thirdly, return policies have made it more attractive. Last but not the least, these stores have competitive prices for leading brands.

Answer B: Well, I am not very fond of online shopping. And the reason behind this is my poor experience. Most of the products which I bought through the internet were defective and duplicate. My credit card information was also misused. So, I always prefer traditional shopping over the internet.

4.Are there certain kinds of shops that are becoming more popular?

Well, I suppose shops that sell computers and computer games and also those that sell mobile phones. There seem to be more and more of them opening up. I suppose it’s not surprising. But I find these shops rather boring personally.

5.What disadvantages do you think there may be to an increase in consumerism?

For me, one of the main disadvantages is that increased consumerism seems to emphasise the difference between rich and poor people. Also another disadvantage is that many people already work too hard and with the increasing consumerism they drive themselves harder and harder just to make money to buy things they don’t actually need, or have time to enjoy.

6.In what ways do you think advertising affects people's attitudes?

The more advertising there is, the more people seem to want. And they never satisfied with what they’ve got. I suppose it’s really depends what you mean by advertising. Some of it could be seen as socially useful. For example, anti-smoking advertising campaigns.

7.In what ways do you think shopping may change in the future?

Well, I’m sure there will be an increasing online shopping, because more and more people have access to home computers. I also think that many small shops in the centre of town will close down, and bigger and bigger supermarkets will open on the outskirts. In some ways it may be more convenient, but I don’t know if these changes will really improve our lives.
