　　定语从句相信大家在初高中都已经学习过，在各种阅读材料中也都见过不少。一个简单句跟在名词或代词后进行修饰限定，在主句中充当定语成分，这样的句子就叫定语从句，如果能用到写作中，会给我们的文章增色不少。

　　定语从句的运用

　　定语从句通常由关系词引导，关系词可以分为关系代词和关系副词。关系代词主要有that, which, who, whom, whose; 关系副词主要有when, where, why。根据先行词的不同，所选择的关系词也不同。下面我们就用不同的关系词来对句子进行合并。

　　01that的用法

　　(1)Although television has reduced the amount of time, it doesn’t have to be this way.

　　(2)The time family and friends spend together

　　在这两个句子中，第二个句子可修饰第一个句子中的名词“time”，因此，我们可以选择that或which作为引导词，将两个句子合并为一个定语从句：

　　Although television has reduced the amount of time that family and friends spend together, it doesn’t have to be this way.

　　02who的用法

　　(1)People can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.

　　(2)People are addicted in watching TV.

　　在这两个句子中，第二个句子修饰第一个句子中的名词“people”，因为修饰人，所以引导词只能选who，将两个句子合并为一个定语从句如下：

　　People who are addicted in watching TV can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.

　　03which的用法

　　(1)Or, if they really want to watch TV, they can find a thought-provoking program.

　　(2)A thought-provoking program they would all like to watch and discuss afterwards.

　　在这两个句子中，第二个句子修饰第一个句子中的名词“a thought-provoking program”，可有引导词that或which连接两个句子，组成一个定语从句：

　　Or, if they really want to watch TV, they can find a thought-provoking program which they would all like to watch and discuss afterwards.
