  以快乐为主题的英语演讲稿 1

not long ago, i read this story in a magazine: there was once a group of young people searching everywhere for pleasure but what they got was only annoyance , melancholy and torture.

so they turned to socrates for advice on where pleasure lay. but instead of giving any answers, socrates asked them to help with building a boat first. the group of guys had to set about the task, laying aside their own business of seeking pleasure. it took them a long time to cut down a tall tree, gouging out the center. through painstaking effort, they made a canoe out of the tree. they launched the canoe into a river, and then rowed together in it, singing with joy.

socrates asked: “my children, do you have pleasure now?” they answered in chorus: “we couldn’t be happier!” socrates added, “that’s it! whenever you are too busy pursuing something definite to notice anything bitter, pleasure will occur.”

from the story i got to know that pleasure always hides behind every tiny thing that you are engaged in, and that you may only get pleasure through hard work and creativity.

it also tells us that we might have no alternative but to experience some pain in our daily life and in the process of seeking pleasure, or sometimes tend to look for pleasure in material things, like a new car, clothes, etc, but true long term pleasure comes from within our soul and spirit. so why not turn suffering into praising life, and turn tears into the light in your heart, only in this way can we make it through and hold the magical spark to light the fire of life.

so my dear friends, just remember pleasure is a state of mind and a matter of choice, and i wish you all a life of pleasure.

happineis like a pebble dropped into a pool to set in motion an ever-widening circle of ripples. as stevenson has said, being happy is a duty.

there is no exact definition of the word happiness. happy people are happy for all sorts of reasons. the key is not wealth or physical well-being, since we find beggars, invalids and so-called failures, who are extremely happy.

being happy is a sort of unexpected dividend. but staying happy is an accomplishment, a triumph of soul and character. it is not selfish to strive for it. it is, indeed, a duty to ourselves and others.

being unhappy is like an infectious disease. it causes people to shrink away from the sufferer. he soon finds himself alone, miserable and embittered. there is, however, a cure so si-mp-le as to seem, at first glance, ridiculous; if you don’t feel happy, pretend to be!

it works. before long you will find that instead of repelling people, you attract them. you discover how deeply rewarding it is to be the center of wider and wider circles of good will.

then the make-believe becomes a reality. you possethe secret of peace of mind, and can forget yourself in being of service to others.

being happy, once it is realized as a duty and established as a habit, opens doors into unimaginable gardens thronged with grateful friends.

as everyone knows, english is very important today.it has been used everywhere in the world.it has become the most common language on internet and for international trade. if we can speak english well,we will have more chance to succeed.because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of the people who go to learn english has increased at a high speed.

but for myself,i learn english not only because of its importance and its usefulness, but also because of my love for it.when i learn english, i can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.when i read english novels,i can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.when i speak english, i can feel the confident from my words.when i write english,i can see the beauty which is not the same as our chinese...

i love english,it gives me a colorful dream.i hope i can travel around the world one day. with my good english, i can make friends with many people from different contries.i can see many places of great intrests.i dream that i can go to london, because it is the birth place of english.

i also want to use my good english to introduce our great places to the english spoken people,i hope that they can love our country like us.

i know, rome was not built in a day. i believe that after continuous hard study, one day i can speak english very well.

if you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. so i believe as i love english everyday , it will love me too.

i am sure that i will realize my dream one day!

  thank you!

Teachers and students:

hello everyone! Im XXX from class xx, grade XX.

Books are the ladder of human progress. They can not only cultivate our sentiment, but also increase our knowledge. Every book we read can bring us different feelings.

When I read the tragic ending of a dream of Red Mansions, I couldnt help crying; When I read fairy honey, I understood that people should not only look at peoples shortcomings, but also think about the benefits of others; When I read journey to the west, I was attracted by vivid characters; When I read satisfaction, I learned that people cant just take, but know how to give

Although I have read so many books, I was once a person who didnt like reading. When I was four years old, I liked to travel with my parents, and my parents often took me to play. But one day, my parents saw that other peoples children could recite several ancient poems, but I couldnt recite anything. I refused to let me read, so my father locked me in the house and threw me a green fairy tale and several other fairy tale books. At first, I kept crying and hoped my father could let me out, but I didnt use it at all. I felt very boring. Later, I opened the book. The characters in it were very vivid. The beautiful and kind Snow White turned into an ugly duckling of a swan, Kind Qiao ye, vicious hunter and poor prince, I was deeply attracted by the story, as if I were in it. It turned out that reading was so fun.

Reading is very happy. I hope everyone will join the ranks of reading and experience the fun of reading!

  Thank you!

Dear teachers and students

hello everyone! The topic of my speech is: I read, I am happy!

Everyones childhood probably begins with his mothers story. My mother loves reading very much. She has been influenced since childhood. She loves reading since childhood. The wonderful stories in the book, the mysteries of nature and interesting things in life... The stories in the book accompany my growth and teach me a lot of truth.

Whenever I make progress in school or life, my mother will reward me with a book. Holding a new book, I often cant put it down, forget to eat and sleep, and dont want to put it down when I eat. Because I like books, and because I often get prizes for books, there are many books at home, such as the romance of the Three Kingdoms, a dream of Red Mansions, journey to the west, the water margin, the insect world, the dinosaur world, encyclopedia knowledge, Robinson Crusoe, the adventures of the bragging king, and so on. In order to encourage me to read more, my mother specially handled a membership card in the "XX bookstore". Every time I walk into the bookstore, I feel like traveling in the ocean of knowledge. Its so beautiful! I took this one and wanted to take that one. In order to read the next one as soon as possible, I can only quickly turn over each book and roughly browse the contents. Every time I leave, my mother always urges me to leave reluctantly.

Book, let me understand a lot of truth! I often hold a book I like, immerse myself in the wonderful story, and rejoice and grieve with the joy and sorrow of the characters in the story. As if empathy; Books, let me know how to make progress, and cultivate my optimistic and broad-minded personality.

Gorky said: "books are the ladder of human progress". Without books in life, people will have no soul, life will become boring and boring, lose the coordinates of life and have no direction to strive for.

Lets swim in the ocean of books, study happily and grow happily!

  Thank you!

r ecently , low-carbon life becomes a high-frequency and fashionable word which gets the greatest concern in the world . low-carbon life means a lifestyle that people do their best to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. as to me, when i heard this word at first time, i just felt apathetic, but things came different when the following news hit me accidentally.

on nov.11th , the singles day, there was a very special collective wedding ceremony entitled “zero release of carbon” at the seaside of shenzhen, where 37 pairs of new couples held their marriage oath activity and signed their names on a board to show their willingness to be the environmental guardian .

no hot food but buffet, no wedding limousines but bicycles, no fireworks but pigeons releasing. i was moved in a great sense by all these.

what impressed me most was an old couple who was over 60 years old. they appeared to be the most passionate one, expressing their solid determination to follow the lifestyle forever, which made me a bit ashamed. look! the low-carbon life is so close to us, even the old couples can do it, why can’t we young students? we should say, yes we can!

take me as an example, i’m a meat lover. every meal without meat, i feel uncomfortable, but recently, i changed my dietary habit . please allow me to ask you a question: do you know what is the main cause of the global warming?okay, let me tell you. those people who eat meat!that’s true! when we produce one kilogram meat, we will exhaust 36.4 kilogram co2 just like we drive the car for three hours. if every chinese eat meat one kilogram less than before, the emissions of the co2 will be 47,320,000,000 kilograms less than before! unbelievable!

eating habit is only one side, as a matter of fact, low-carbon life exists in all the aspects in our daily life. do not buy too many clothes、do not use lift if possible、 do not watch too much tv、 do use the recycled paper、do use the energy-saving lamp、do use the e-book and many many things ,remember , low-carbon is just around you !

lately , from nov.29th to dec. 10th , the united nations climate change conferencestaged in cancun , mexico , aiming to put the bali roadmap into practice and make it legally binding .besides , the international community has also taken effective measures to control the damage of our environment , leading to the foundation of various treaties like the united nations framework convention on climate change 、the kyoto protocol and so on.

in a word , as a college student,we should cultivate our awareness of energy saving; we should put it into practice; and we should help our

families and friends to live a low-carbon life. only by doing so can we hope to create a world where all humans enjoy a harmonious life. yes, we can!

Dear teachers and students

  hello everyone!

Books are the ladder of human progress, and books are friends who will never betray. I love reading. Whenever I am immersed in the fragrance of books, I cant extricate myself!

I cant live without books, and books cant live without me. Every day, I soak myself in the sea of books, reading on sunny days, rainy days, spring, summer, autumn, winter, happy and unhappy... You may ask: what spell in the book makes you so enchanted? I love reading, love is the subtle language in the book; Love is the tortuous plot in the book; Love is the profound truth in the book.

I remember the first book my mother gave me was the little match girl. This book describes a little match girl who lived a miserable life and finally died in a corner with a dream on New Years Eve. I cried after reading the book. What happened to the little girl is so tragic! I think: we now live in such a beautiful world, we must cherish everything we have now!

And the fairy tale snow white. This book must be familiar to everyone! Snow White is really a beautiful, kind and pure person! In the face of her stepmothers repeated intrigues, she always showed her brave and kind nature. Finally, she lived a happy life with the prince. And the wicked and cunning queen was punished as she deserved. A man should be kind, but not do evil things that hurt nature and reason, otherwise he will harm others and himself, dont you think?

Many people may like to read some interesting fairy tales, jokes and other books, rather than dry foreign works. However, I am different. I cant put down these books!

French "short story" Maupassant wrote an article called "the poor". This article is neither funny nor thought-provoking, but it describes the detailed actions of the "poor" beggar, which is really vivid! For example, the actions of beggars grabbing food and begging with their hands, and the look of being put in prison arguing with the police are all vividly described. After reading, the mind immediately shows the specific image of the beggar, which is impressive and memorable!

I love reading. I love reading famous works at home and abroad. I love reading interesting fairy tales and ballads. I love reading compositions and novels... I like a boat swimming in the ocean of knowledge; I am like a bird, happily shuttling through the forest of books; I am like a spring silkworm, greedily sucking the sweet spring of culture

Experience in reading, grow up in reading, I read, I am happy!

  Thank you!

  以快乐为主题的英语演讲稿 8

When you have 21 minutes to speak, two million years seems like a really long time. But evolutionarily, two million years is nothing. And yet in two million years the human brain has nearly tripled in mass, going from the one-and-a-quarter pound brain of our ancestor here, Habilis, to the almost three-pound meatloaf that everybody here has between their ears. What is it about a big brain that nature was so eager for every one of us to have one?

Well, it turns out when brains triple in size, they dont just get three times bigger; they gain new structures. And one of the main reasons our brain got so big is because it got a new part, called the "frontal lobe." And particularly, a part called the "pre-frontal cortex." Now what does a pre-frontal cortex do for you that should justify the entire architectural overhaul of the human skull in the blink of evolutionary time?

Well, it turns out the pre-frontal cortex does lots of things, but one of the most important things it does is it is an experience simulator. Flight pilots practice in flight simulators so that they dont make real mistakes in planes. Human beings have this marvelous adaptation that they can actually have experiences in their heads before they try them out in real life. This is a trick that none of our ancestors could do, and that no other animal can do quite like we can. Its a marvelous adaptation. Its up there with opposable thumbs and standing upright and language as one of the things that got our species out of the trees and into the shopping mall.

Now -- (Laughter) -- all of you have done this. I mean, you know, Ben and Jerrys doesnt have liver-and-onion ice cream, and its not because they whipped some up, tried it and went, "Yuck." Its because, without leaving your armchair, you can simulate that flavor and say "yuck" before you make it.

Lets see how your experience simulators are working. Lets just run a quick diagnostic before I proceed with the rest of the talk. Heres two different futures that I invite you to contemplate, and you can try to simulate them and tell me which one you think you might prefer. One of them is winning the lottery. This is about 314 million dollars. And the other is becoming paraplegic. So, just give it a moment of thought. You probably dont feel like you need a moment of thought.

Interestingly, there are data on these two groups of people, data on how happy they are. And this is exactly what you expected, isnt it? But these arent the data. I made these up!

These are the data. You failed the pop quiz, and youre hardly five minutes into the lecture. Because the fact is that a year after losing the use of their legs, and a year after winning the lotto, lottery winners and paraplegics are equally happy with their lives.

Now, dont feel too bad about failing the first pop quiz, because everybody fails all of the pop quizzes all of the time. The research that my laboratory has been doing, that economists and psychologists around the country have been doing, have revealed something really quite startling to us, something we call the "impact bias," which is the tendency for the simulator to work badly. For the simulator to make you believe that different outcomes are more different than in fact they really are.

From field studies to laboratory studies, we see that winning or losing an election, gaining or losing a romantic partner, getting or not getting a promotion, passing or not passing a college test, on and on, have far less impact, less intensity and much less duration than people expect them to have. In fact, a recent study -- this almost floors me -- a recent study showing how major life traumas affect people suggests that if it happened over three months ago, with only a few exceptions, it has no impact whatsoever on your happiness.

Why? Because happiness can be synthesized. Sir Thomas Brown wrote in 1642, "I am the happiest man alive. I have that in me that can convert poverty to riches, adversity to prosperity. I am more invulnerable than Achilles; fortune hath not one place to hit me." What kind of remarkable machinery does this guy have in his head?

Well, it turns out its precisely the same remarkable machinery that all off us have. Human beings have something that we might think of as a "psychological immune system." A system of cognitive processes, largely non-conscious cognitive processes, that help them change their views of the world, so that they can feel better about the worlds in which they find themselves. Like Sir Thomas, you have this machine. Unlike Sir Thomas, you seem not to know it. (Laughter)

We synthesize happiness, but we think happiness is a thing to be found. Now, you dont need me to give you too many examples of people synthesizing happiness, I suspect. Though Im going to show you some experimental evidence, you dont have to look very far for evidence.

Good morning, everyone!I’m Zhang Yuting from Grade y,the topic of my speech is “Im happy as I grow up”.

The happiness of growth is the purest kind of happiness, Sometimes not even need any is a happiness in human life when continuous improvement, It is even the emotional outpouring from the heart. Someone might ask: Is it just happy to grow it is no trouble, and of course there is a growing worry, but "tired" and just "happiness" contrast, is not absolute; sometimes troubles may also be a pleasure.

Through careful study, I know the happiness of mastering knowledge. I know that learning is equivalent to happiness. When you get good grades; When you get a praise from teacher or parents; When you are thinking very hard, and finally know the correct answer to a question ; When you know a lot of knowledge you almost didn’t know , Do you feel a sense of happiness? right, this is the happiness of learning! we learn in growing life every day, since it can’t escape, then happy to face it! we need to have a class carefully and complete homework carefully , we need to review and preview consciously , you need some proper outdoor sports, to maintain a healthy body. As long as you do the above points, you will be surprised to discover that learning is so happy!

So, my classmates, we must cherish every minute of Time from life, let us "happy to learn, happy to grow up "!

Recently, we had a discussion on how to make learning English relaxing and fun. Most students believe that there are many ways to do so. First of all, we can have more interactive activities in class, such as discussions, interviews, story-telling and role-play. In this way, we can have more fun learning English. Secondly, we need to find more opportunities to communicate in English with people, whether they are English teachers or classmates, foreigners or Chinese, because using English is the best way to learn.

These ideas sound reasonable and practical. From my experience, there are many other interesting and relaxing ways. For example, we can listen to English songs and watch English movies. We can also watch English programs on TV or join English clubs or make English pen friends on the Internet.

All in all, what we need is more free time and more space.
