　　low-carbon is one of the most popular buzz-words in this year. not only china but all countries focus on the topic of low-carbon. here, i’d like to share my own experience abroad with you. several years ago, i was very lucky to have an opportunity to live in the australia about half a month. during that time, not only did i enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also i appreciated the people’s active way of protecting their environment. now,whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the b(HaoWOrD)eautiful scenery of australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily among the trees. as a citizen of china, if everyone can actively protect the environment in our daily life and if we would like to reduce our carbon footprint, the scenery of blue sky, green grass and lovely animals in australia will appear in china, even in hefei. but i totally support the view, that is to say, emotion without action is irrelevant! do you unplug electronics after you use them? do you switch off everything before you go to sleep? do you adjust your tv screen a bit dimmer to save energy? do you re-use water for different activities around the house? each of these seemingly insignificant adjustments in your daily life can make a difference in saving the environment of tomorrow. we all know that nothing is more comfortable than sitting in the warmth of a hearted car while it’s snowing and hailing outside in the freezing coldbut with global warming and even global cooling becoming more pressing by the day, not to mention your own health, take a walk ,ride a bike ,reduce your carbon footprint on the environment .it is said that tiny streams can be combined into a vast ocean, small trees can be an immense forest, and every little makes a mickle. low-carbon is not just a buzz-word but a goal that people from all over the world wanna get. so, reduce carbon footprint! reduce damage! save energy! save the world!

good morning/afternoon ladies and gentlemen, i am glad to be here. my topic today is: reuse, recycle, and reduce. as we all know, with the development of our economy, we are using up our resources and at the same time our environment is badly polluted. as environmental protection volunteers, what shall we do? my answer is reuse , recycle, and reduce . all of us should keep these words in mind and take actions to protect our environment. wherever we are, at home , at school, we all can put it into practice. for example, when we use paper, we’d better use both sides of it instead of only one side. day by day, we will reduce the amount of paper we need. that means we will protect many big trees from being cut down. what’s more, when we deal with rubbish, we should learn to separate it, because some of it can be recycled. in this way, we can save our resources and reduce pollution around us. above all, it is time for all of us to protect our environment. i believe as long as we try to reuse, recycle, and reduce things we need, we will make a better world for you and for me. thank you.

　　人与环境是和谐相处的，我们生存在地球上，人是自然之子，而不能仅把人看作自然的征服者，大家都知道，人类只有一个地球，地球上的山山水水、动物。植物是人类的细胞，如果我们把它损坏了，破坏了大自然的组织，等于消灭人类。因此，环境要与社会公德联系起来，与实践行为作为人格教育的一项重要内容来抓。每个人都要履行保护环境的责任和义务。

　　人类有史以来不断改变自然环境，以改善自己的生活方式。人类借助技术工具改变了地球的许多自然特征。他将林地和草原改造成为农田，使江河变成湖泊和水库，用于灌溉或用于水力发电。人类还通过给沼泽地排水、凿石劈山、修建公路和铁路等方式，改变了地球的面貌。

　　然而，人类改变自然环境并不总是带来有益的结果。今天，空气和水的污染给地球的健康造成越来越严重的危害。每天机动车辆的排气管排出成千上万吨废气。工厂释放的烟雾污染了工业区和周围乡村的空气。水污染同样有害，海洋的整个生态平衡正在受到破坏，工业废水已使许多河流的'生物死亡。

　　现在，环境保护比以往任何时候都更为紧迫。我们知道，对环境的大规模破坏已经带来负面影响，甚至严重威胁到人类的生存。对这些问题漠不关心将意味着自我毁灭。因此，应采取有效措施并通过法律来保护环境。不然的话，人类势必遭受因其不关心生存环境而引起的严重后果之苦。

　　throughout history man has changed his physical environment in order to improve

　　his way of life. with the tools of technology he has altered many physical features of the earth.he has transformed woodlands and prairies into farms and made lakes

　　and reservoirs out of rivers for irrigation purposes or hydroelectric power. man has also modified the face of the earth by draining marshes and cutting through mountains to build roads and railways.

　　however, man”s changes to the physical environment have not always had beneficial results. today, pollution of the air and water is an increasing danger to the health of the planet. each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the

　　exhausts of motor vehicles. smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. the pollution of water is equally harmful. the whole ecological balance of the sea is being changed and industrial wastes have already made many rivers lifeless.

　　now environmental protection is more pressing than ever before. as we know,massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to man”s existence. indifference to these problems will mean&;nbsp;committing suicide. therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve environment. otherwise, man is certain to suffer from the serious consequences caused by this lack of care for his living surroundings.
