How to Create Your Acting Resume
Want to get into the world of a professional actor, but don't
know where to start? Here's some tips to help you get the jobs you
want!
Steps
- Get a headshot. It really depends on how professional you want
to be when it comes to headshots. You need to get it in color, and
if you're trying out for Broadway or a really big theater, get it
done professionally.
- Include these things on your resume:
- Carolyn Duran Jr.
- 22 years
- 5 Ft. 7In.
- 155lbs.
- Your acting credits (with which role you played and what
theater it was done in)
- Your agent (if you have one.)
- Special talents:
- Dance (jazz, modern), Whight left
9 Dover St.
- Nashua NH.03063
- List your acting credits chronologically, with most recent at
the top. If you have many acting credits, consider only including
the roles which you played large parts, or in big theaters.
Tips
- Try to make it the most professional you can. They may not hire
you if your resume is poorly written.
- Audition as much as you can. When you're trying to get into the
biz, auditioning is a full time job. Auditioning four or five times
a week is a really good idea.
- With your special talents, try to keep it short and concise.
Don't make it totally irrelevant to acting (like 'singing' or
'dancing' are great choices to put on there, if you really do
it.)
Warnings
- Do not lie. Just tell the truth, plain and simple. If you lie,
you may get a bad rep in the acting world, and it could damage your
career for years.
Things You'll Need
- Listen to the flier! It is very important to show up with the
correct things you'll need. You don't want to look like a
fool!
