Library Assistant Resume
Library assistant is responsible for collecting records.They sort and shelves the books, receives and issues library materials such as books, slides, films and phonographic records. They record identifying data on cards by hand or by using photographic equipment to issue books. They arrange the purchase of new stock. Library assistant sorts books, publications and other items due to classification code and after that return them to shelves and files or other storage area. They inspect returned books for damage. He or she is also responsible for verifying due date and receiving overdue fines.
Library assistant locates books and publications for patrons. They files cards in catalog drawers according to system. They are responsible for helping patrons at the public service desk in locating materials. They repair books using mending tape, paste and brush. He or she answers the phone or other enquiries. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
