In the process of medical billing, submitting and following up on insurance claims to insurance provider companies in order to receive payment for services provided by a healthcare provider. Similar process is utilized by most of the insurance companies, whether they are government-owned or private companies.

The medical biller's job is to act as liaison between doctor, patient and the insurance provider companies. They communicate with the insurance companies if any of the patients claimed for the insurance.
