How to Write a Formal Email

Writing a "formal" email as a job application is really no different than writing one you would send in the mail. Clarity, conciseness and being correct are the keys!

Steps

  1. Set up the email as a business letter. Begin with the full name, title, business and email address of the person to whom you are writing. See example in Tips.
  2. Next, you will need to write the actual message. Be sure to get your point across and do not ramble on!
  3. After you have written your message, double-check it to make sure that you have contained everything that you need in your message.

  7. Dear Sir/Madam
