How to Get a Singing Job
Whether you want to be the next big star or just get a simple
singing job in your town, this will help you out.
Steps
- Keep an eye on the paper, magazines, radio or even the TV for
opportunities to sing. When some come up apply for them as soon as
possible.
- Sing at talent quests, small concerts, open mic nights,
karaoke, etc. Let your voice be heard wherever you can.
- If you're old enough, try singing at bars, clubs, or even
restaurants.
- If you can play the guitar or any portable instrument, go do a
spot of busking (playing for money on the street). Not only will it
earn you a bit of extra cash, it will get your voice heard to
others. Who knows, a talent agent might be walking by.
- If you're not fully trained in singing, get some lessons. If
you are very good, your teacher might recommend you to someone who
could just offer you a job.
Tips
- Don't give up hope. If you audition for something and don't
make it, don't think it's the end of the world. Be positive.
- Practice, practice, practice. Practice whenever you get the
chance.
- Believe in your self, dont listen to people whom put you
down.
- Even if your parents or other family members dont want you to
become a singer (or think its so ridiculous to want a job THAT
fantastic) follow your heart and do what you think is right.
Warnings
- You could be waiting for a long time but do not give up.
- Remember that rejection and criticism will only make you
stronger in the end.
- Never put your self down it makes you feel like giving up.
- Quite a lot of places require you to get a busking permit to
busk. Even though it costs money, it's better than not getting one
at all and risking a fine.
