How to Find a Job Using Own Website
If you are an average specialist or your occupation is of low
demand, recruiting agencies will not spend much of their time and
efforts on you, they will turn to somebody else who will bring them
more profits. If you turn to the employers directly, you will not
be noticed among other candidates, and your resume may be lost. The
advanced way of job search and career growth is using own website.
This will allow the employer find you directly.

Steps
- Understand your career/job expectations. Prepare the lists of
your strong points and qualifications and of your weak points.
- Understand the job market and whether your job expectations
match what the job market has to offer. You can use the ratings of
occupations that are published by various job sites.
- If you are not familiar with site building you can find a
company which may need your service as a consultant, then they will
give you an access to the website where you can post our resume.
Such partnership will be offered to you by, for example, by
JOBTOP100.com (they provide you with a free website).
- A website should go with a keyword rich second level domain
name, for example, alljobs.com. The website should be as much
optimized as possible (This service is rendered by JOBTOP100.com
for free).
- All you need is to make out the contents of the website
describing your occupation and a professional-looking resume. It
should be properly formatted and reflect your skills and
qualifications.
[edit] Tips
- It usually takes 3 months to get a job. But if you are looking
for a top position or your job is hard to get or the occupation is
unusual, it may take up to 6 months. The 3 months rule does not
work if your expectations are high or unusual in terms of salary,
location or the company itself.
- Make the list of all the sources you are going to use in your
job search and analyze them. Tell everyone you know are looking for
a job.

Warnings
- It can so happen that your resume is outstanding and you devote
40 hours a week to the job search, but you don鈥檛 get any job
offers. One of the reasons for this is that your resume does not
work:
- there is no objective at all or there are more than one
objectives. You should prepare several resumes to suit several
positions. If you respond to an advertisement you should indicate
the name of the position in the ad.
- Your resume does not reflect the experience needed for your
target position. This is possible when you switch careers. Then
indicate the skills required for the new occupation.
- There are gaps in your experience. Do not put the exact dates.
Your goal is to get your foot in the door, but you will have to
explain your absence at the job market during the interview.
- Make your resume keyword rich. Resumes are selected by HR
officers who know little about occupations and just have the list
of requirements the ideal candidate should have. Describe your
skills and qualifications in the words used in the 鈥渞equirements鈥?section of the advertisement.
